The artifical island: Odaiba

Odaiba, built up as artifical island in Tokyo bay, is a relatively new part of the city. Beside some accommodations for students, you can find a great number of interesting facilities. The view on Rainbow Bridge, which connects Odaiba and the mainland, is unique and many painters and photographers think so, too.

If you turn around 180 degrees, a totally different scenery opens up in front of your eyes. In fact, Odaiba is a big shopping and leisure area sponsored by several companies, for example Fuji TV and Toyota. Venus Fort, a big shopping mall near the huge ferris wheel, is designed in southern style - very nice, but nothing for a small or empty purse.

Despite of that, Odaiba has a nice atmosphere, many people and couples enjoy especially sunset and the nightlife afterwards. And perhaps a little bit of liberty...

Indeed, there is one in Paris, too, you can see it here.
